Knee Guide
Proper actions for everyday life are summarised, understandable for the lay person, in the so-called Knee Guide. Such a therapy is to be recommended also for the pain-free interval or the postoperative phase.
The 10 major rules:
- Movement is important
- Avoid excess strain
- Weight reduction in case of overweight
- Avoid prolonged standing and walking
- Relief of the joints
- No lifting and carrying of heavy objects
- Avoid strong bending of the knee (over 90°) under load
- Proper shoes with flat heels and soft sole
- Engage in knee-friendly types of sport (biking, swimming)
- Daily training of the leg muscles
